I wonder how many users use Cintanotes in 2024?
Text based note manager are great for memorizing information.
This software is for people who loved Evernote Legacy version and other software that worked well with or without the internet.
I also wait for the new relaease, even for testing...
I am afraid storing large number of information in case compatibility issues with newer versions of Windows. But attracted to use it because it does what I need to do.

Re: Cintanotes in 2024
I use CintaNotes frequently, mostly for personal info. I would like to also use it at work, but we have a very secure environment that doesn't allow me to install unapproved apps. CN works very well for me and I also use the sync with SimpleNote feature to make some info available on my phone.

Happy to see there are somebody who uses Cintanotes.
Indeed it is great for very personal notes that I would not store in Evernote and other systems.
It has an attractive simple retro look.
How many notes do you have?
Did you experience any slowdown on many notes or tags?

Thanks for a good question, and Gunars, thanks for chiming in!
I guess it would be inappropriate for me to answer this question directly.
Of course, given the absense of major updates for quite some time, the number of active users have dropped considerably.
But there still are people not only using CN, but buying licenses.
Yes, even now when there is a large number of shiny new online alternatives for note-taking, some people still prefer simplicity, performance and convenience of CintaNotes. (This is also why keeping these properties in the new version is of utmost importance for me).

Yes simplicity is very important. I hope soon the new release is here. Even alpha or beta versions for testing are welcome.
Is there any way to create links with relative paths? I want to organize assets insides Cintanotes folder but not in the database to avoid making it the size of terrabytes. I don't want absolute links. Instead relative links are preferred.

I'm afraid in the current version there's no way to do this. But I will definitely consider implementing this in the new version.
Meanwhile, exporting the notes DB to XML and find-replacing old asset path with the new one could be an acceptable workaround for the case you need to move your asset folder to another place. After replacing, import the XML to a new DB. I understand it is a hassle, but still will require less than 2 minutes to do.

Cintanotes is GREAT!
As a (very) disappointed Evernote user I definitely know what I'm talking about...
