[Ann] CintaNotes 1.5.6 (Pre-Release)

Postby CintaNotes Developer » Mon Feb 13, 2012 5:06 am

In this version:

Enhancements:
  • Note editor: placed last modification date under the creation date for easier comparison.
  • Note editor: activating links with Ctrl+Click.
  • Updated translations.
Fixes:
  • Note editor: F3 and Shift-F3 keys for find next/previous were not working (regression).
  • Note editor: creation and modification time labels were not updated on Ctrl+S.
  • Note editor: the "Note saved" message on Ctrl+S was not always visible.
  • Note's last modified date always changed if note font was the same as the configured monospace font.
  • Replaced confusing error message on trying to import a non-existent .db notebook file with a more user-friendly one.

Look's really smooth now :)
CintaNotes Developer wrote:Note editor: activating links with Ctrl+Click.
Yes, that feel's just right to use :D

I confirm the issues fixed.

FYI: It is fixed, but has a side effect. Notes erroneously saved with the "<pre>" tag by an older CN version, now have the "<pre>" tag removed again. This will lead to an unwanted save action, which will happen one time only. No further action required.

Yes, unfortunately there's no easy way to avoid this. But since this is a one-time issue, I guess it's bearable ;)
Thanks for checking on all other issues!

I would appreciate when the "forum" sends an E-Mail, when a new (pre) release has been provided in the forum :)

Well you can always subscribe to the forum or the topic.
If you only want to receive reply notifications, there's an option for that as well: User Control Panel/ Board Preferences / Edit posting defaults / Notify me upon replies by default.

Another fix, probably the last before the release:
  • Fixed possible crash when importing notes from older .db files.

Since the release is out, this discussion should be continued here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1254

Since there will be a new topic for every release, i (again) suggest to add announcements in the already existing forum "News and releases". As some people might like to read announcements in the main forum a duplicate entry could be added in the "News and releases" forum to allow to subscribe to that forum.

Sorry! I have just realized the announcements are in place! I just never noticed, because one has to move to the last entry of this forum, which is currently on page 2. This would not have happened, if this "special" topic could be sorted descending as a default. This is a need for the announcements forum only.

Sorry, I don't quite get it. I have this topic on the very first page of the forum, in the top. Have you maybe changed the sorting defaults? I have "Sort by: Post time Descending" setting.

Alex, i have now changed my default settings in the user control panel. Posts will now be sorted descending by default. I think i did not change those settings before. Well, i'll get used to it ;) Thank's for clarifying.
