[Resolved] Directory structure for Portable Version

Postby Noddy330 » Wed Apr 22, 2009 10:36 am

Can I suggest that the Portable Version holds all its files in a single directory (ie no Sub Directories - help, images, etc)
This will make for easy installation by drag and drop from the ZIP.

And why does having subdirectories matter here? You can select them too. I just tried it myself: everything is copied ok. Or do you mean the top-level directory "CintaNotes_BetaM8"?

If I extract from a ZIP I get the directory structure.
If I drag and drop from a ZIP I loose the directory structure.
For me, drag and drop is my preferred method.

What Zip archiving software are you using? WinZip? I used WinRar and also built-in XP zip viewer, both worked ok with drag-and-drop.

Ahh – OK - I understand.
I’ve tested the following to see if they keep the directory structure on drag & drop
- WinZip 9.0 – no (or I can’t see how to configure)
- 7-zip – yes
- XP ZIP – yes
Problem solved. Thanks
