Public CN .db files

Postby jaroet » Mon Oct 29, 2012 3:41 pm

Are there any public CN db files available...?
If so it might be interesting to have a topic to list them. Can be anything from info about your home-town to a FAQ about SQL-syntax. I was just wandering if there was a it could be fun to see what people come up with

I think there must be some generally useful importable XML in the "Tip&Tricks" topic!

Great idea, jaroet, I think! I am thinking of the cookbook. It would be very Convenient implement ingredients as tags for example..

Well, and I know I’ve said it before, I think CN Help should be in a CN db file.
It would demonstrate the power and flexibility of CN.

I agree that this is a very nice idea, but I'm unsure about the exact function: so I select
'Help/Help', and current .db file is closed and Help .db file is opened? But the user certainly
didn't expect this to happen. What would be the best way to do it?

I guess I’d see it opening up another instance of CN, overriding ‘allow multiple instances’ if required, and using a colour theme that was not available on the Colour Theme menu. Maybe saving the user's db first. Nod

Hm, this possibility didn't occur to me. Seems to be worth pondering on, thanks Nod!

I've created a help file for cintanotes in CintaNotes (1.8.3) .

Should I post it? Didn't want to step on any toes.

Thanks,
Mark

Thanks, Alex.

Here it is.

The organization is slightly different than the regular help file, mostly to reduce the number of 1-item tags. I use tags to create the sections, which serve as a TOC. Maybe the titles should be redone so that they sort by title correctly. Currently I just use Manual sorting so that I don't have to play with the titles.

Since CN has only one highlight color, my convention was to show all notes and warnings as mono-spaced, high-lighted, with indenture.

CN has no tables, so I changed tables to indentures.

I did this by hand, so there are probably places where I missed bold/italic originals. Hopefully I captured all the sections.

Thanks,
Mark

Mark, thanks a lot for your great work!
Probably in future we'll use it as a basis for real self-bootstrapped CN help ;)
