Hi

Till now it seems to run stable here (version 2_0_beta_3 on a windows7 machine).

Only found some minor things (not really bugs):

1) Color of the Main Section
uses the color defined via Color Theme and ignores the color set via properties of this section

2) future enhancement:
Creating a new note now does not give us an option to which section it should belong.
The current behaviour is fine with me - but maybe in the future we want a choice here?

3) there was a crash when I right clicked on the ALL button
but I couldn't reproduce this problem - maybe other can also try this?

4) I like how the color of the section is shown for the notes if ALL is selected
makes them really easy to distinguish
(and wonder how this will be realized along with the color feature for the tags?)

So far - so good
now some real testing...

Thanks! Please try this version: http://cintanotes.com/files/beta/CintaN ... _Beta3.zip
Should be starting up fine!

I too had experieced a crash on every load of CN - but was experimenting.
This new version loads ok - a definate improvement.
Now more testing.

dordave wrote:First of all let me say that I'm really excited about the simplenote sync feature. This is definitely the feature I've been waiting for the most from the roadmap. Also now CintaNotes will be by far the best available PC simplenote client!

The sync process doesn't seem to work for me with my existing database. I loaded my (5000+) notes into the new version and hit the sync button, but the sync stops after uploading a few notes. Each subsequent press on the sync button uploads just a few more notes.
I'm using Win7 x64 and beta 2. I'm not using any custom sections, so the "Section to synchronize" is Main and all notes appear in this section.

Thanks.

Hi Dave, thanks for kind words and for the report. We are currently investigating the issue. We'll fix it if it's CN issue, in case if it's SimpleNote's server problem we'll provide better diagnostic message.

Do you by any chance have the log.txt file from that session? If so, would be really nice to have it. Warning: it might contain the text of your notes.

Hi kazak, thanks for the report. This is easy to diagnose: have you been trying to open a .db file from version 1.9?

Please see above:
"ALSO IMPORTANT:
THIS VERSION IS INCOMPATIBLE WITH PREVIOUS BETA (1.9.1). YOU SHOULD USE .DB FILES FROM 1.8.5 (OR CREATE A NEW NOTEBOOK AND USE XML IMPORT)."

Hi Chris, thanks for the report, do you have a log file?

I can't reproduce this(
So some further questions:
1) How many sections did you have?
2) Which position had the section you deleted (leftmost, rightmost, in the middle)?
3) Have you moved sections prior to deleting?
4) Which view was active?

How exactly were you saving a note? Via clip, paste, OK click in editor, Ctrl+S in editor?

Note Sure. Maybe Ctrl+S or ESC and close window.

CintaNotes Developer wrote:

You mean Ctrl+V in notes list?

I used Ctrl+F12 clipping functionality.

You mean all this after pressing Ctrl+V?

Again using Ctrl+F12.

add1) 7 sections (including the main one)
add2) third one from left (but doesn't matter) - I can't delete any section
-- CN just crashed after trying to delete the main section
-- I noticed that i CAN delete the last section
add3) maybe
-- but now I restarted CN and still can't delete the sections in the middle
add4) what do you mean?

I will mail the logfiles (don't want the content be shown public)
(I was in debugging mode when CN crashed so this may help even I can't reproduce the crash now)

Chris, thanks for the feedback!

You mean that there's no choice after you've pressed insert? Because prior to pressing Ins you can activate the
needed section and the note will go there.

Sorry to disappoint, but there are already enough different colors, so we are not planning introducing colored tags in the foreseeable future.

SN sync working ok so far.
I did sync with one section and then sync with a second section, to same SN account, and got lots of duplication. No problem as not my real data.
But if the guidance is one account per section then it shoud not be so easy to switch the section name that syncs.

Thanks for the extra info.
This error might be produced if you're using the DB from 1.9. Are you sure this is not the case and the DB is new?
Can you send the log file in please?

thanks Alex, now it's ok.

Can you change color of related tags to #0000ff, to try it and say opinions.

I updated from 1.8.5.
The file "log.1.txt" is empty (size=0).

Very strange - I was sure - tried it - now I am confused - seems to work - sorry :?

Yes, no choice after I've pressed insert? Could be useful if you create a note and are not working in a specific section (e.g. global shortcut or workin in ALL).

Have you got the logs via eMail? But I think this happend before I activated debugging.

This is wonderful stuff Alex!
If i were a girl, i'd give you a nice hug!!

Just unzipped b3 to a new folder under C:
setup my Simplenotes account and finished doing my very first sync in about 2 min.
Of course, i really didn't have a ton of notes in either bucket but the dual sync process seams to perform just fine! yay!! 8-)

Thank you so much! It's a purrfect Christmas gift!!

I notice that i can't use sync if i'm behind a proxy with auth. May be you could add a simple proxy config dialog (server, port, username & pwd) 8-) .
Nothing more to say, except i really enjoy the tab interface
