How to restore to default section?

Is there a way to set CN to restore to default section (instead of last search result) after it being minimized to taskbar?

Do I understand correctly: you want CN to change current section to the "inbox" section on restoring from being minimized to tray?

Ya well, i have CN set to 'close to system tray' but when i open it up again,
i usually don't want to see the last search but rather go to default tab (or section) and start a new search.

This is actually a very interesting approach. If we could have an option to start with a clean search, we could use ESC to always minimize to the tray. When i think about your suggestion i realize, actually this might solve the problems i am having with CN. I keep on pressing ESC (to clear) and exit CN, though i actually just want to exit directly. When i come back next time a clean search can be handy. Combined with the request of navigating forth and back between last searches this could be a great enhancement.

Ok, this is indeed a very interesting idea!
But what to do if I don't want to reset the search, but want to minimize?
Maybe it is needed not as often as Minimize+Clear, but I'm quite sure
it's needed a lot.
Probably we'll just have to make the user state this explicitly via using a more
complex shortcut, smth like:
Esc = Minimize + Clear + Switch to default
Shift+Esc = Just Minimize
Alt+BkSp = Just Clear?
But there's something I don't like about this: how easy it will become to lose
the complex and elaborate text and tag filter that you may have spent
several minutes creating.

Good, but what is the default? Personally i use 'All' most of the times. Also i'd like to use ESC to exit immediately.
CintaNotes Developer wrote:Shift+Esc = Just Minimize
Good. Already have this.

Yes. Also check here:

This will be no problem, when we have

The default section is the inbox section, which can be assigned via double-click or Ctrl+I (but can also be unassigned, btw!)

I'm not that sure about this.. anyway, if it is an option, than the user will be able to deactivate auto-clearing of the filter and everything
will be ok. And I think there should be two distinct options:
1) Clear all filters on minimize
2) Switch to inbox section on minimize

I was actually asking for a way to either switch to the Inbox or to the 'All' section.
Will i be able to exit CN using ESC right away?

Good, but should read "Clear all filters when minimized with ESC", right?
CintaNotes Developer wrote:2) Switch to inbox section on minimize
Good. In case i don't use this option, my last section will be preserved, right? I use 'All' most of the times, which is not a specific section, but turns off section filtering (technically spoken). This will still work, right?

Exit CN completely? No. Only minimize it to tray.

That's arguable. I'd expect the program to behave the same way regardless how the action was started - by
ESC key or by hitting the X button in the top right corner.

Yes, sure it will.

Sorry for the confusion. That's what i meant. Mimize to the tray.

OK. We have Shift+Esc to minimize, while keeping the filter. That's fine with me.

What about 3) Switch to All-section on minimize?
Of course only 2) or 3) can be used at one time. The options exclude each other.

Yes, I agree this should be an option too. Thanks!
