... but maybe this behaviour already existed in the versions before?
1) set format if no character is selected
In the past I was able to make a whole line bold by just hitting CTRL+B (no character selected).
The behaviour is different now: the word under the cursor will get bold
Is this behaviour on purpose or is this a bug?
I liked the previous behaviour more!
2) create a new note with the global hotkey
If I hit the global hotkey to create a new note this note gets pre-tagged with the tags currently in use to show the list of notes.
This behaviour is useful if I am working within CN and is reflected by the option 'Assign Current Active Tags'
BUT if I come from a global context (working in a different application and suddenly have to take a quick note) I don't want the list of tags to get pre-filled!
At the moment I have to delete them every time - which is annoying.

Re: 2 things I noticed with version 2.4 Beta 1
Hello ChrisCN!
Making a line bold with CTRL+B - that was a bug, so it was fixed in CN 2.4 Beta 1. Here is from the CN release announcement:
Option 'Assign Current Active Tags' works for all new notes independently of applications where it was created, including CN itself.
You can turn off this option and use 'Ins' key while you're working within CintaNotes.
It will automatically assign current active tag to new note.
Thanks!

Editor: When no text is selected, text formatting shortcuts now toggle formatting for current word only and not whole paragraph

Hi Chris,
This is a fix for http://roadmap.cintanotes.com/topic/151249-keyboard-shortcuts-for-text-formatting-should-behave-standardly-ie-not-toggle-the-formatting-of-the-current-paragraph/
Not sure, but is annoying to me too. And i think it is a new issue. The setting "Options\Clipping\After Clipping\Assign Currently active tags" is turned off. This appears to be a bug.

Re: 2 things I noticed with version 2.4 Beta 1
Thanks for your reply (and thanks also to Thomas)
Ah, I missed that.
Is there any chance of getting back the old behaviour that I really liked (maybe as an option or as a new key)? Very often I mark a whole line bold (title of a section within the note) so this came in very handy
As Thomas also noticed: this may be a bug.
If I turn OFF the 'Assign Current Active Tags' the active tags still get assigned!
thanks

Hi Chris,
I too liked the old behaviour. Still i welcome the change, since CN now accords to standards.

It's been considered as a bug - so unfortunately not.

It seems strange, i've tried it many times with turned off option 'Assign Current Active Tags' - no tags were assigned, everything was correct.
Could you specify from what application you take notes?
Or upload log file if it's not difficult?
Thanks!

I can reproduce the problem like this:
- deactivate option "Clipping">"After Clipping">"Assign Current Active Tags
- close and start CN (only to be sure)
- cklick on a section in CN
- click on a tag (list of notes with this tag are shown)
- HIT INSERT BUTTON -> a window with an empty note opens and the field 'Tags:' contains the tags I previously clicked on
So this also happens if you simply create a new not within CN.

Re: 2 things I noticed with version 2.4 Beta 1
Hi Arseniy,
I realize the problem is not related to clipped notes, but when creating a new blank note using either Ctrl+Shift+F12 or when pressing INS inside the main window. Probably this works as designed (wad). Anyway, personally i'd like to turn off the behaviour. Maybe there should be a setting. I've added a request here: http://roadmap.cintanotes.com/topic/258522-option-to-turn-off-tag-assignment-for-new-notes/

Yes, you're right. Clipping notes goes correct with empty tags when the option 'Assign Current Active Tags' is turned off.
What about creating a new note with a current active tag - yes, it is the way it designed.
Ok, i've processed your Roadmap request.

Even if someone designed it that way - it could be considered as a bug

(Because I can see no argument why this should be useful (clip "no"/ new "yes") - no harm meant - only to but a little pressure on you

Re: 2 things I noticed with version 2.4 Beta 1
Hi Chris,
The entire matter of assigning tags automatically is meaningless to me. It could be of interest only, when you want to create several notes, one after the other. But even in that case, you could easily select them and assign them the requested tags in one step. So best would be to drop the setting and never assign tags. Imo, the request here http://roadmap.cintanotes.com/topic/3183-autotagging-automatic-rule-based-tag-assignment/ serves the need a lot better.

Sure - opinions differ

ChrisCN wrote:Because I can see no argument why this should be useful (clip "no"/ new "yes")
Let's see would someone vote for this feature.

No problem

I think it is a little bit different requests.

OK
I voted for the option regarding auto tagging.
and submitted a new request for the one-key-formating:
