BackUp Path Question
I recently set up my computer for a dual boot operating system using Windows XP & Windows 7. I created a DropBox folder in each Op Sys & re-directed the path of the CintaNotes database to the DropBox folder. All seems to work well BUT the Back-Up option still points to the original CintaNotes installed default location. Can anybody tell me if this Back-Up path is able to be edited, or not? I've used Cintanotes for quite a few years & love it's functionality.

Re: BackUp Path Question
Hi MrMagoo10,
sure, the backup path can be configured via the "backup.folder" parameter in the cintanotes.settings file, for example:
backup.folder = D:\My Dropbox\CintaNotes\Backup
If the drive letter is not specified, the path is considered to be relative to the CintaNotes folder.
Hope this helps!
P.S. I wouldn't recommend putting the backup folder into DropBox however, because the files are often re-written and thus
will constantly be conflicted, so the folder will soon be full of "cintanotes.daily.(User1's conflicted copy).db".
IMO it is better to have separate backup folders on each of the OSes. And it is safer as well, because you'll be getting
an extra backup copy.

Re: BackUp Path Question
I guess my choice of words was wrong as I was not familiar totally with Cintanotes. I did specify the location of the active .db file as being in DropBox but I left the location of the Back-Up files for hour, day, week, as where they were located originally in the XP installation. I'm happy to report that I can access the database from either system & also from the DropBox website. Thanks for your reply & suggestions are noted.
