Postby CintaNotes Developer » Wed Aug 20, 2014 5:56 pm

Aug 21, 2014 - Version 2.7.1

In this version:

Enhancements:
  • New option: "Options/Startup/Notify when Activating Existing Instance"
  • Editor: improved pasting into lists New setting "editor.lists.paste.alwaysintoitem" and new command "Paste Into List Item"
  • Simplenote sync: improve syncing down of notes w/o #section tag
  • Anti-feature bloat: removed unnecessary options "Editor/Text Formatting" and "Editor/Auto-Indent"

Fixes:
  • Editor: removing bullet list style didn't work correctly for multiline paragraphs
  • Editor: entering CJK symbols with Microsoft IME corrupted links
  • Editor/Replace: "Replace All" button worked as simple "Replace" when activated with Enter key
  • Clipping: whitespace trimming could in some cases corrupt newlines
  • Command line interface: Opening notebook didn't work when path contained quotes, spaces or national symbols
  • Simplenote sync: in some cases sync could't finish always try to update same notes
  • Message boxes could appear on the wrong screen with a dual screen setup
  • Fixed wrong UI labels when "lang" directory is missing

For me, sync still does not work. It shows 1 of x being downloaded, 2 of x, etc. very rapidly until the downloaded notes equals the total notes and then it says "download failed." No explanation given. Credentials are fine, other programs sync fine with Simplenote, but Cinta hasn't for me since 2.7. Hoped the minor tweak of 2.7.1 would solve it. Didn't.

(BTW, ancient complaint, but I am still just stunned that spell check isn't considered essential. I rarely use Cinta because of it, and each new release bring me hope, and I return. Heck, this phpBB has spell check. This time I return to find sync, which used to work for me, broken and still no spell check.

Hi vcg3rd,
Thanks a lot for your message. Sorry to hear about the problem with SN sync.
To fix it I'd need to ask for some debugging information from you.
Could you please do the following:

1) Run CintaNotes and activate "Help/Debug/Debug Logging"
2) Try to sync again
3) This will produce the file named "log.1.txt" (either in CN folder,
or in %APPDATA%\CintaNotes) - please send it to me.

Please note that this file may contain some of your private data, such as tag
names (but no passwords). You may want to edit the file and remove this data
first.

About spell checking - have you already voted here?

Hello Robert,
Thanks for your message!
Could you please try this version:

If the sync still doesn't work, would be very grateful for a new log file.
Thank you!
Alex
