Nov 27, 2015 - Version 3.1

In this version (in green - changes since Beta 2):

Features:
  • Notes list: display remarks preview
  • Options/Notes list: add configuring of remarks preview display
  • Added "Options/Tags/Context-Sensitive Suggestions" option. When active, only tags from currently
relevant sections will be suggested for autocomplete.

  • Notebook encryption: add "Lock when PC is locked" option

Enhancements:
  • Editor: improve handling of local cintanotes:// links Now such links are handled by CintaNotes itself, without using the system protocol handler
  • Improve speed of mouse wheel scrolling of tag suggestions
  • Moved help online, what reduced the size of the distribution package by 30%.
  • Localized help is now opened for Russian and German UI languages.

Fixes:
  • Clipping of numbered lists removed first number
  • Ad-hoc "Timer N not in the registry" error
  • Simplenote sync: crash when chosing "Use system proxy" when in fact system was not configured to use a proxy
  • Regression: "Linked note not found" error on normal http links
  • Search: word exclusion with (-) sign didn't work when attachments field was included in search
  • Fixed random crashes upon pasting rich text into note editor
  • Numbered lists with empty lines are now recognized upon clipping or pasting
  • Note properties: date time picker should use system's date and time format

Download:
Installable: CintaNotes_3_1_Setup.exe
Portable: CintaNotes_3_1.zip

Hope you enhoy the new release! Huge thanks to all who took part in beta testing and feature discussion!

Hi Alex,

Solid update, many thanks for the continued active development.

One small moan; in a notes list without text preview, the new remarks preview is far too prominent (it's in relief/3D).

[*] 'Lock when PC is locked' appears not to be working on XP.
[*] There is some part of the characters in the suggestion list cut off, see attachment. This was not in the beta btw.
[*] It is possible to have a listbox drop down, and on second ctrl-space another one expand up, and have them both showing. Somehow I can't reproduce this atm.

Hello,

Main window position and size does not save here...
Other options like sidebar size, editor size, etc., are saved OK.
Tried to delete .settings file, didn't help.

CN 3.1 portable.

P. S.: Don't release at fridays

Thanks for your feedback. Could you please be a bit more specific - do you mean that 1px tall white line between title and remarks?
A screenshot would be helpful as well. Thanks!

Hi date,

Thanks for reports!

date wrote:[*] 'Lock when PC is locked' appears not to be working on XP.

I tried on XP and it is working for me. Please describe in more detail what is not working.
CN is still gets locked even when this option is off? Or vice versa?

date wrote:[*] There is some part of the characters in the suggestion list cut off, see attachment. This was not in the beta btw.

I confirm, will be fixed in 3.1.1

Couldn't reproduce this. Will need to find a way to reproduce.

Hi ivani,
thanks for the report!
I'm afraid that I can't reproduce this issue. Could you please specify your Windows version?

Hello!

More info about my bug:
- OS versions WinXP 32-bit and Win7 64-bit.
- CN Versions 3.0.2 final and 3.1 final.

Just found out: when I close CN using File -> Exit, all window positions are saved!

But I'm always using "close to tray" option. When exiting CN from tray icon menu -> exit, main window size and position are ignored.

Never thought, they are not the same exit command...

/quote]

I can confirm this issue on Windows 7 SP1 x86 and x64

Steps to reproduce

1. Open main window
2. Resize/change position
3. Exit from program
4. Start CN again.

The third locking option did not have any effect, but I found out it depends on the Terminal services-service installed. Entirely my fault for getting rid of it

Works on classic view, or in a virtual machine. But a minor problem...
