After opening one of two jpg attachements in a note (the biggest one; (from editor modus)


I got an error message:


After deleting and re-attaching the jpg the error still exists.
Opening the jpg in Paint works fine

Adding a new test:

1.
Created a new note.
Attached the problem jpg to this note.
Error pops up

2.
Did the same in an other notebook in an existing and new note.
PROBLEM DIDN'T POP UP. JPG opened fine.


Size of former notebook (with the problem) 14.904 kB with 1.347 notes stored.

I also couldn't reproduce the problem and tend to think this is a notebook corruption issue.
Please export your notebook to XML and import it into a new one (Please note that if you're using Simplenote sync,
the process is a bit more involved than that, please ask what to do in this case)

But I tried to export to XML and import in a new notebook.
But that gives me this

Could you please activate debug log and attempt to import XML again?

I'm afraid this is only log of the error, but we need to see what happened just before the error.
So you need to turn on debug logging first in the Help/Debug menu.
After program restarts, try to import again.
This will generate a much, much bigger file.

Ah I see. I've made a new error log like you descriped.

but

While attaching the file to this reply I got an error message:


Even after deleting .txt from filename, same error pop ups again

I've made a Word file of it: same error again

Even a simple test.txt made by myself generates this error...

I think zipping it up should help, and also greatly reduce the size.. right click -> send to -> compressed folder

Do you have any rules defined?
If so, could you try to import without rules?

That worked. Import went OK.
Even attaching en opening the problem-jpg works smooth without error poping up.

But logically the remaining question is : how to get my rules in the new populated notebook? ............

This is most probably a bug in rules import function.
Could you please send me the contents of the <rules> tag from the XML?
I'll try to fix it asap.
