Thank you!

Had problems using the executable, all files were corrupt or something, even tried downloading it multiples times.

But the portable updated just fine my installed version.

I had the same issue: when running the executable, I got the message that files were corrupted. I'll stick to 3.9 until this gets sorted out.

Windows 10 64-bit reports a corrupt file during the install
Error after request to create desktop icon
Have aborted install before discovering if multiple files affected.

I have tried a few downloads during the course of the day.

My CintaNotes is 3.9.1 and my Win10 is up-to-date ( annoying as THAT can be ! )

BUT, now I am installed and fine after downloading this A.M. 3.10.0.2

Thanks, Alex !

:)

Help Downloaded 3.10 this day at 15:42.
Just one rule doesn't work anymore....

If Title starts with '[O]' then add tag: [O]-Overlegnotitie
Tag doesn't appear after typing [O] in the title and saving the note.

Other rules work fine:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Title starts with add tag
-----------------------------------------------------------------
[$] [$]-Leverancier-Product
[=] [=]-Document
[*] [*]-Website
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Hi awm,

thanks for the report! I suspect that the problem is specifically with the [ and ] symbols. Could you please confirm?

Hi Alex,

I don't think it is in the [ and ]
Other rules with these brackets work fine.
See two printscreens.

I also find out that replace the letter O by X or any other letter of the alfabeth, doesn't make the rule to work either.
Symbols like @ or = or ~ seem to work fine...

Adding:
If I remove the brackets though, it works fine with letters.... may be that the problem is in the backets ......

It looks it is in the combination of [ <letter> ]

And "search inside words" is off, correct? When you turn SIW on, the note gets found?

Please, please make this optional! I have just discovered this new behavior today, and this one change suddenly makes me look for a replacement application. Here's why:

I use CN to store my collection of quotes and various references (thousands). Thing is, quotes tend to not have titles. My clips look like this:

This is a line or a paragraph of text
-- this is the source / author etc.

Before, when I clipped a snippet like this, the "line of text" got duplicated as a title. While somewhat wasteful, this is still much better than the current behavior: the quote goes into the title, and the body of the note contains only the second line, the source. Now I have to manually copy the title and paste it in the body, every time. This is of course a huge hassle (and one easy to forget when clipping with a hotkey).

I've used CN for many years for just this purpose, and this one change breaks it completely for me. Can you please revert to the old behavior, or make the new one optional?

(Btw, at some point I made a suggestion on the Roadmap site to help deal with the repetition: clip the title after, say, a dozen words. A title that contains a whole long paragraph is not useful anyway. This way we could have meaningful, automatic titles, and avoid wasting space.)

With SIW on CN finds all notes with [O] in the note title
But the rule doesn't find any notes with [O] in the title to tag... :(
It is also not possible to tag a note by hand with this tag [O]-Overlegnotities.
Other tags with [O] do work well .... :?:

Thanks for your comment! You convinced me, in the next version we'll introduce an option to turn this behavior on and off.

Probably you're right, but it may very well be that there're a lot of people who rely on title not being clipped, so we need to exercise caution here.

What exactly do you mean by "tag a note by hand"? Adding the tag in the editor? Or F4 in notes list? Or drag-drop of tag?

When I open a new note (INS) or existing note and add the following tag: [O]-Overlegnotities and then save the note press (CTRL+S), CN doesn't add the tag to the note.
When a add [A]-Overlegnotities (so just replacing the O by an A) then the tag is added to the note.

Can't repro this(
Are you sure that the note is not empty? CintaNotes doesn't save notes that have only tags but no other content.
