Is CintaNotes still under development?

Greetings:

I'm a new CintaNotes user, and I like it quite a lot. It's one of the best notes managers I've ever used.

That said, I'm concerned that development of CN seems to have stopped. Before I invest a lot of time and energy moving some of my notes from other applications into CN, I'd like to know whether the product is alive or has (essentially) died.

I'd appreciate any insight on this.

Thanks,

The answer is "yes," as far as I can tell. Alex has promised two interim releases this summer, and he seems to be hard at work on the big release that will introduce a new interface.

Hello Ed,

Thanks for your question. I understand your concern and have to admit that the frequency of releases has dropped.
This was to be expected under the circumstances. The 3.x branch has come to its limits and the need to move to a
more modern UI framework was evident. However such a big move requires big sacrifices, suddenly you have to
reimplement from scratch the GUI that has been developed during 5 years. And then you find out that not everything is rosy on
this path, and there are many bugs and shortcomings in the new framework that you have to find workarounds for.
But it is still worth it, since it will enable portability in the end, and will relieve us from the burden of maintaining
the framework.

So the answer is, yes, the development is going on, although perhaps not as fast as we'd like it to.

Hi Alex,

From past posts about migrating to a new UI framework, I understood why we had not seen as many releases as usual. It is reassuring to know that development is proceeding as three things are 110% guaranteed to kill a software project:-
1) I donate to a freeware project,
2) I purchase a shareware licence and
3) I purchase a lifetime licence. So that is a double whammy for CintaNotes as I did both 2 & 3!

Cheers

Well let's hope this time this rule won't work! ;)
But now I know who is to blame that the development is progressing slowly! ))
