font and appearance

Postby yogi » Tue Mar 03, 2020 3:19 pm

Hallo,
when I use some editors like Notepad, textmaker or Notepad++ I can enter text which contains for example an "a" with a horizontal dash above it. Like Bhāva.
If I select this word it may become just an empty rectangle in CN3.13 but not always. I just tried it with the above Bhāva and it worked like a charm.
I just tried it with another word:  gṛha in this case the r should have a dot underneath. The strange thing is, it worked for the top line in the new Note, whereas the word was wrong below in the big textfield.
It must be a problem with fonts and encoding but I dont know how to handle this.
Helpf would be much valued.
Thanks
Yogi

Hello Yogi,

You are correct that this is a font issue. You might want to try setting a font like "Arial Unicode" as your note font (in Options/Notes List) to handle the widest possible range of characters.

Thanks Alex,
I set the text font to the same font as the header font. I suppose it will work in future.
Kind regards
Yogi
