Alex, something mysterious is on going on here. Yesterday my original post (above) was described as having been read by just a few persons -- I don't remember the number, but I think it was less than twenty. Then today when I glanced at it again, the figure had climbed to more than 1800. Just overnight? That can't be right. I now wonder how accurate all the statistics on readership are on this forum.

Bill, these are probably just bots crawling the forum. I don't think there's a way to prevent them "reading" the topics.
