.
Here are my steps:
With text box empty, press "All". "3447 notes" is displayed at top right.
In the list of tags, the "Anki" tag is marked "308"
Press the "Anki" tag. "308 notes" is displayed at top right.
Press All.
In text box, select "Anywhere"
In text box, type "Anki"
"310 found" is displayed at top right.
Question: How can I identify the two extra notes found by using the text box?
Reason: Obviously I would like to add the "Anki" tag to the two untagged notes. But, in general it would be nice to know why I seem to be getting inconsistent results.
Thanks.
A search by key word finds 2 more notes than a search by tag. Why?

Hi OG
See if the following helps:
1) Click on All to select all notes.
2) Alt-click on the Anki tag. This should give you all notes that do NOT have the Anki tag.
3) Search for Anki. This should give you all notes containing Anki in the subset that does not have the Anki tag.
4) You can then tag those notes with Anki also.
This appears to work the other way around also:
1) Click on All to select all notes.
2) Search for Anki to get all notes with this word.
3) Alt-click on the Anki tag to remove the ones that have this tag.
4) That should leave you with the two.

BTW, why do you think you're getting inconsistent results? It sounds like you have 310 notes with the word Anki in them, but only 308 of those have the Anki tag. If you search the contents, you get 310; if you select by tag, you get 308.

That worked fine, thanks.
Your first set of instructions found 2 notes that did not have the Anki tag.
I tagged these 2 notes.
Second set of instructions found no notes to be tagged.

If you ran the first set of instructions and then tagged the two notes, the second set of instructions would have nothing left to find (nor would the first).
