Re: [Ann] CintaNotes 1.0 released!
Alex I maybe see a fresh bug, I'll try to explain, I replaced CintaNotes.exe 1.0A with 1.0B, all other files, settings etc, are the same as yesterday.
Now when I launch CintaNotes there's a little anomaly. I have sorting set to none, reversed list on and the "all" tag set. Now, let's say I should see the notes list like
Z
Y
...
B
A
The anomaly is that I see
A
Y
...
B
A
I mean the very first note is like the last, if I work with the list in any way, for example repicking the "none" ordering, or selecting a tag and then again "all" then the list is fine, Z is in the the right position now. I'm not sure if A replaced Z upon execution, or Z is somewhere else in the list until I resort or do other things. I can find Z with search, Z is there, and as I said after interaction is all Ok
If you see the problem and can understand me Ok, if not, I'll try to understand if my settings are the culprit or maybe I can try and see if it happens with a fresh notebook and fresh settings.
Now the happy news 1.0B starts fine also for me with a limited account and the graphical glitch seems solved, thanks.

ale, you are my savior once again

Confirmed, now it's all Ok
Latest CintaNotes.exe has CRC32 8ea6531a, with half a dozen CN folders I had things a bit mixed up and took a while to figure I was downloading the new version and persistently using an old version

1.0B works great--I'm no longer getting any Runtime errors.
Thanks admin and ale for your quick detective work. I'm really looking forward to using the new version!

Hi Alex,
1)
I think search is not so good? see images:

http://i.imagehost.org/0510/2010-03-18_121012.png
If I search second-part of word - I have not any results. (search work in category only)
2) If I turn OFF all backup, CN creates buckup-folder anyway

Re: [Ann] CintaNotes 1.0 released!
ALL,
thanks for the feedback.
1) CN now uses full text search. This means that the search is faster, but it matches only from the beginning of the word.
If you want the old search, turn on the "Exact Search" option. This search is slower, but will match the second part of the word too.
2) Seems to be a bug. Not critical though, will fix it in the next release. As a workaround, you can specify CN folder as a "backup.folder" in cintanotes.settings.

Re: [Ann] CintaNotes 1.0 released!
Not sure if this is a bug or not – but it is strange.
I’m using 1.0B.
Load this db into CN
Set tag sidebar and reverse order
Select all in tag sidebar
Close CN
Start CN – you see aaa at the top and eee at the bottom
Select untagged in the tag sidebar – and now eee is at the top above aaa.
Nod
This problem has been puzzling me for a few days – It occurs when I move my .db between PCs, when at first load the newest record is not visible until I select untagged.

Alex , Others,
Were you able to reproduce this?
Do you think it odd?

Re: [Ann] CintaNotes 1.0 released!
Nod, sorry but I can't reproduce this with 1.0B.
First of all, when I set "reverse order", "aaa" is never on top.
When I don't set reverse order, "aaa" is still on top even with Untagged selected.
This is all when "None" was selected in the sorting control, sorting by Date gives the same result.

Hmm. Thanks. I'll experiment more. Nod

Re: [Ann] CintaNotes 1.0 released!
Maybe your re-downloading didn't work because of router caching of same-named files. There's been already an issue with this. Try to download the other version (portable or non-portable).

Alex,
I'll give this one last go - and then I will give up.
Create a new directory on hard disc (eg c:\cn-test) and go to it
Download 'my' cintanotes.zip (from forum) and extract cintanotes.db
Download CintaNotes_1_0B.zip and extract cintanotes.exe
Start cintanotes - note order is aaa, bbb, ccc, ddd, eee
Set view tag sidebar and reverse order - note order is eee, ddd, ccc, bbb, aaa
Clear options minimise to system tray
Select all in tag sidebar
Close CN - file / exit
Start cintanotes - note order is aaa, bbb, ccc, ddd, eee
Select untagged in the tag sidebar - you see eee, aaa

Done, all correct so far.Noddy330 wrote:Create a new directory on hard disc (eg c:\cn-test) and go to it

But it was already All. But ok, carrying on..Noddy330 wrote:Clear options minimise to system tray

No, it is eee, ddd, .. , aaa since Reverse Order option was saved and restored.Noddy330 wrote:Close CN - file / exit

Yes but this is correct since Reverse Order is set.Noddy330 wrote:Select untagged in the tag sidebar - you see eee, aaa

Not for me - note order is aaa, bbb, ccc, ddd & eee - but I agree Reverse Order is still set
Now, at this stage, if I clear Reverse Order nothing happens, if I reset it then the note order is eee .... aaa.
Very odd

Re: [Ann] CintaNotes 1.0 released!
I cannot reproduce this, which OS and from which folder are you running CintaNotes from, Nod? As Alex said, there was a last silent update to solve a similar issue so make absolutely sure you're using the last CN version. Maybe you can also attach CN settings as written on the disk after the first run and before the second run (which shows aaa, ...)?

Re: [Ann] CintaNotes 1.0 released!
Nod, please try the attached version (unofficial 1.0C) and tell if the bug persists.
This version also fixes the following bugs:
#250 Backup folder is created even if all backup is turned off
#255 DatabaseException when moving to bottom with active tag filter
#256 Main window resize bug after making tag sidebar visible
#257 DatabaseException when tagging multiple notes, some of which already have the added tag

Well there were 2 versions of 1.0A, but I think there was only one version of 1.0B.
