Voted favorably, but wanted to clearly state that I stand for linking any non text objects, not embedding...

Actually sometimes embedding is better than linking (specially when image size is small) because accidentally image can be moved to another source.

While this is really nice, I am only in favor if it doesn't slow things down as I have stated several times before. I feel CintaNotes is for text capture and think images should be handled in a way that doesn't slow core functionality. The way I could see this is a separate folder to contain the images, and a link to those images in the note. I would hope they never get stuck into the database as I use this portably and like to keep things light AND FAST! I used to like Evernote but they have added so many features, grabbing images, etc that it has become bloatware (that doesn't even get to the move to the web). I don't want to see CintaNotes take the same route!

Todd, I'm with you on this. Speed is my #1 priority.

I don't need this feature and I agree that speed and simplicity must be the top priorities.

I would like to have images along with my notes, but, I think they should be linked and not embeded. having the images popping up in the notes would be a distraction thhat i wouldn't wantt however a Image place holder ie Image would be fine

Being able to embed images should be an option, and for me a priority; people who want to maintain pure text can use use a file:/// link.

Maybe it should also upload picture to some of image hosting services? Or Amazon S3 storage. And link to in in note. Anyway, I think linking is much better then embedding too.

may i suggest an idea...

how about create a picture container (standalone file in same direstory as cintanotes database)
this file will contain all pictures, and cinta notes database will link to it

it will be usefull both for people which want to add pictures and for people who don't

@hlop4ik: What are the advantages of pushing all images into a single file, as compared to having them stored as separate files in a dedicated folder?

imho its more convenient to transport database (2 files against 1002 files) and container can be encrypted
and if you are using database on usbflash container is better than separate files because of read/write speed of flash drive

but of course its not so big difference between container and just files
