[UI] Option to CLOSE cinta when pressing ESC (not only MINIMIZE)

would it be possible to get an option to CLOSE cintanotes when i press ESC and not to MINIMIZE? because with Executor i can start it faster then by clicking on the tray and that way cintanotes does not affect my memory when i dont need it.

also i dont see a reason in running it in the background all the time...

Wow, some people seem scared of this ;)) I think we should state clearly that if ever done, it will be an OPTION, which will be OFF by default.
@Dstrohma: By the way, what about just pressing Alt+F4 instead of ESC?

sure, thats a possibility, but i always close all apps with ESC... thats just like a convention
its really faster than pressing a combination of keys.

it would help if the user could define keys for specific actions (should not be that hard to implement - i have done that with java)

i am really surprised that nobody finds it usefull

but hey, thats ok

PS: i dont know a good editer that does not have the possibility to close on ESC. but i understand that other features are more interesting to the more users.

I actually like that CintaNotes is running in the background, it makes it much easier to bring it up (click on the tray icon). But I can also open it with Launchy, that's why I voted for I don't need it personally.

I run CintaNotes portably. I use Pstart to start it and when i exit Pstart I have a script that shuts down all processes started via Pstart. On my work computer I use a customer developed App that you use the escape key for various functions depending on the window you are in (idiotic I know but hey I gots ta work with it!!) having cintaNotes exiting on ESC would cause too many problems. Thats why I voted No.

Hi Kranor! I've been thinking of writing a Pstart script for a long time to do this but never got around to it. Care to share?

Hiya Todd No Problem
Pop over to portablefreeware.com and have a look at 2 progs, Closeall ( will literally close every open window) and ejectUSB (you write an .INI file to close all process either by name or by spawn, really simple and in active development.) Once you have them, set them up in pstart and set them to run at exit

ah but then you are running a script to close a program.....!
EjectUSB closes programs even when the app is process locked then ejects the usb drive. It used to take me 5 mins to shut down my pc at work now with this it takes me 1 min.
Plus the app IS written in AutoIT

I'm not sure. ESC to minimise - thats ok - many apps work like that. ESC to close - thats a No No. Nod
