[UI] Single button Hotkeys

I am currently using autohotkey to fill in what I see to be a few holes in the available shortcuts in cintanotes, to create a very fast note taking workflow.

I set a single key, F1, to create a new note, and when that note is open, F1 will close the note.
F2 will open the last opened note--when the note is open, F2 now closes the note.
F3 opens the main window for searching. Again, F3 closes the window.

It may seem like a small thing, but having the hotkeys set to a single keypress to toggle between the note window rather than a ctrl+keypress to open and a different key to close, is very nice.

Is it currently possible to disable the key modifiers in the settings file?
Would you consider making the new note key also close a new note?
Would you consider adding a dedicated "open last opened note" button? Very useful!

Thanks,

Hello mat,

Does this mean that you're not able to use F1-3 keys for anything else in other programs?

Yes, at present, although these are only examples, other possibly unused or lesser used keys exist in common layouts (F6, F7, F8 are probably less used, Print Screen, Scroll Lock, Pause) obviously these would not make great default settings, but I see the option as a positive and the lack of the option as sort of arbitrary. If you are concerned about people accidentally overwriting necessary shortcuts, perhaps this option could be enabled only through a settings file flag?

Actually my plan is to switch over this functionality to a foot pedal, but I haven't made that particular leap quite yet.

Thanks!

It seems that there already existed a similar request on our roadmap.
It was declined because it collected only 6 votes for 4 years, but now I've reopened it,
and if it gets more than 10 votes it will make to "planned".
