Mark section header with bold text

Hi,
in general I like the GUI of Cintanotes. Even though the active section is indicated at the very top of the programm I usually look at the section headers. It is not easy to recognize by color which one is selected. My suggestion is to make additionally the header text bold.
This is an unobtrusive change which supports the intuitive use of Cintanotes.

Kind regards
Yogi

Hi guys,

I think this has sort of come up before, in a couple of places. First, an overview of how CN uses colours, courtesy of Alex - just for background:

Second, a specific reference to this particular issue (at least I think it is the same issue):

I suppose bolding may be a way to improve things, though Alex was going to look into whether the current colour mixing was buggy or not (very last post in the thread).

Sorry, still didn't have time to look into that issue.
Since we plan to overhaul the UI in V4.0, I just feel that it will be a wasted effort.
So I'll look what can be done as a "quick fix".

I'd be interested to see what may be able to be done for Windows 10 with a new UI - colouring/theming is much more limited in Windows 10 than in previous Windows. For example, up until the very recent November 2015 update, the titlebar of any Windows program was pure white - with no option to change it. Microsoft have (seemingly reluctantly) now given Windows 10 users an option to have a non-white titlebar as long as you have the update installed - but you still can't choose that colour separately as you could in previous versions of Windows. Instead, the colour you choose for Windows itself (the 'accent' colour in the colour section of the Windows settings) is used as the colour for the titlebar, as long as you have the correct option enabled (ie the one that applies that colour to the Start Menu, Taskbar, and Action Center).

Needless to say, a pure white titlebar made CN - and every other Windows program that does not use a custom window, which is a large majority of them - look ugly. Though I guess that as long as CN uses a standard window, we are restricted to what Windows gives us, so there is probably no real room for CN to manoeuvre on Windows 10.

Yes, I also don't quite like the way Microsoft is taking. But I'm sure we'll find some way. In the worst case we can make the window frame complete owner-drawn, although this would be truly our last resort.

This is what more software nowadays have been doing, a random notorious example being Chrome. It feels like hippie software, or a flash game in and of itself, or anything but a web browser.

I think it's the worst idea ever. Themes are acceptable, (and can be nice,) but please let it be optional and not hijack user experience. Especially the title bar!

I agree - that's why I said this would be "last resort" ;)
