How about a Diigo - Cintanotes collaboration?

Postby danielson » Thu Jun 09, 2016 12:54 pm

To have a Diigo desktop app would be just super!
Cintanotes and Diigo both work with tags...
Just a thought.

Btw, was unable to insert emoticons on this post.

Hi Daniel,
Thanks for the suggestion!
I must admit I'm not acquainted with Diigo. Does it support tagging notes?

Actually, their notes feature (surprisingly) does not.
It could be an occasion for Diigo to expand their reach!
They seem to be open to "ideas":
http://feedback.diigo.com/forums/76211-ideas
(you might have to be registered user to access that link).

Their bookmarking sync works with tags, perhaps it's time for their notes one too?
Maybe CN wouldn't have much of an issue to adjust to adding bookmarks.
A desktop app would surely bring a long-missing feature to Diigo.

From the looks of it, CintaNotes and Diigo are quite different, and mapping CN to it would require a lot of changes.
Does anyone else support this?

I use both so it sounds great to me but I know it would be a lot of work and effort for you so wouldn't expect changes like this if there's only a couple of us who want it. Maybe put it to a poll?

Thanks for your comment, Lenn. Since Diigo doesn't have the ability to tag notes, I doublt that intergrating it with CN is a good idea.
Also Diigo seems to be a lot more than notes. Probably developing a separate desktop app for Diigo could be a viable idea, but I'm not sure here either.
Are you a paying Diigo customer? Would you pay even more to have a Windows client?

Diigo does allow the use tags for bookmarks...

The ideal would be a solid Simplenote extension for Chrome or Firefox.
Isn't it odd that they have so many other note extensions but none (functional) for Simplenote yet ?
Might be less complicated to do a Cintanotes' one for these two browsers than a desktop app that syncs with Diigo?

Let's do it this way: if 2 or more people chime in here, we'll add it to the roadmap for an open vote.
