Hello,
May I suugest adding the option to color the title box of the note
( not the font but the title box background).
This way one could add importance to notes by coloring their title boxes.
Thus, important notes - red title box background, less important in green, or "family notes" in red "work notes" in blue and "todo notes" in green.

I think a related discussion to this feature request is here: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=284 where basically it was expressed the desire to mark a note, the two ideas that came from that discussion were adding a kind of status icon or coloring the background of a note header. You can add your vote to the poll of that topic, read other users opinion and of course add anything you would like to say about the topic.

I totally agree with ale.
I'd also like to add that coloring alone is not enough to be really useful. You should be able to sort by color, for example.
In the meanwhile I suggest you use some prefixed tags for importance, like "!high", "!medium", "!low". This way you can filter notes which I'm sure you'll find handy.
