[UI] Minimize to System Tray when losing focus

Postby Bedlam » Mon Apr 12, 2010 10:24 am

I have worked until 3 weeks with another note tool and find CintaNotes amazing.
But i am missing one feature that i liked very much with that other tool. This was the option whenever i move the focus from that note tool to another program / window that then the note tool automatically is minimze to the System Tray.
If you incorporate something like this in CintaNotes than it could be a switch like "Minimize to System Tray" and "Close to System Tray".

In the options menu you can already select:
Always on top
close to system tray
minimize to system tray

if you dont want Cinta Notes to hide other windows when it loses the focus, just unselect "stay on top" - but in my opinion, this "stay on top" feature is very convenient.

Sorry but you have not completely understood what i want.

I know that there are the two possibilities "close to system tray" and "minimize to system tray". But even when i have both activated and when i move then the focus to another window with clicking on it CintaNotes is still open. What i would love is that there is a option that it will automatically close to system tray in such a case. At the moment i have to hit escape or use the windows close button to move CintaNotes to system tray.

I really don't see the point - if you disabkle "stay on top", the window that you clicked will come to the foreground and will be fully visible, and the cinta notes window goes to the background. I don't know any other program that automatically minimizes to the system tray as soon as it loses the focus, and I don't think it would be a good idea: Some background activity may pop up and grab the focus while you work with cinta notes, this would also send cinta Notes to the tray.

Bedlam, thanks for the suggestion.
Let's have a vote on this. I've added the poll to determine priority. If after some time the score is positive, the ticket will be created.
