[Clipboard] Save as basic text

Postby littlebigman » Wed Sep 22, 2010 8:04 pm

Hello

I noticed something that I'm not sure is a good idea: When copying text from a notes in CintaNotes, and then pasting it into a WYSIWYG textbox (eg. Eudora, etc.), text is "rich" using some font.

For text to use the font in the editor, I'm forced to remove formating by either hitting the PureText utility in the icon bar, or (in Eudora) choosing the "Clear Formatting" option.

Since CintaNotes doesn't currently offer any formatting anyway, I think it'd be better to send basic text to the clipboard.

I don't think that's a CintaNotes feature -- I bet it's the way Eudora handles unicode text, but I don't use Eudora so I don't really know...

I just tried in Wordpad: When pasting text directly from CintaNotes, it's in Tahoma, while pasting if after going through Notepad to remove formatting, it's paster as Arial (ie. the default font in Wordpad).

Yes I confirm this is a problem with the current version.
The standard RichEdit control is to blame here, special measures should be taken to strip formatting.
Added the bug to the roadmap: http://roadmap.cintanotes.com/feedback/6925-/
