I confirm the problem with the € symbol is fixed in 2.9 beta 1.

The watchdog introduced with 2.8.6 is doing its job!!!

Here is my first catch

Steps to reproduce:

• create a first note with title "first note"
• create a second note with title "second note"
• in second note set caret to the text
• create a bullet by pressing Ctrl+L
• create a http link by writing "http://cintanotes.com"
• press ENTER
• press Alt+Shift+N to create an internal link
• select "first note" as reference
• press ESC to save the note
• open the note again
• set the caret after the http link in the first line
• press ENTER
• start debugging
