Typing Alt-F-1 or Alt-F-2 (and probably Alt-F 3,4..etc.) when you are already using that library opens up the windows folder for those files.

So if you are using mystuff.db and your first library file is d:\cinta\mystuff.db and you type Alt-F 1 it will open the windows explorer file for d:\cinta\mystuff.

Not a big problem, and may even be useful for some people. Just thought it should be pointed out.

What OS?: XP sp2+
What version of CintaNotes? 1.7 pro
What window/pane has Focus? CintaNotes
What key combination? Alt-F-1 or Alt-F-2 (to change active library)
What program and version are you clipping from? n/a

Yes, I see what you mean. Not exactly the behaviour I'd expect but nothing really bad.

Perhaps Alex will be able to explain this decision next time he's on the forum.

yes this was implemented because no other action seemed to be more logical to assign to selecting the currently active database.
Doing nothing was also an option, but after some thinking I decided to open windows explorer on the .db file, because sometimes you need
to find the file itself, and this is a handy shortcut.
So this is a feature and not a bug)
But if you have some arguments against this feature, please speak out.

My perspective is that the punishment should fit the crime.

I type the file list number from memory (e.g. Alt-F 1 = reference database). Often without even looking up I'll start typing my search text.

If I accidentally type the wrong file, an appropriate "punishment" is a Beep to let me know that something is wrong. An inappropriate punishment is to lose the focus on CN entirely coupled with a wait for Windows Explorer to come up. In order to repair what has happened, I have to return the focus to CN. I'll also need to close out the Explorer window eventually.

Its fairly rare that I actually want to see the CN directory. And when I do, I just type the path. If I find I'm typing it all the time, I'll just make a CN note with a Link to the directory

Mark, thanks for your considerations.
They are valid, and unless someone in this topic expresses support for the current behavior, we'll remove
the "open CN folder" functionality" in the next version.
