"xxx stopped working" and so on

I don't kown why,

months ago,my 1.7.x work well.

(But I can't find old versions so I'm not sure if I can run 1.7.x successfully)

hope to add "error dump" function.

Hi，I did it. I created a shortcut and put the parameter "-d" after the target.
But with no luck. Nothing generated.
Crashes before the log generated,maybe.

PS:Several months ago,I installed a new version of snarl(another software) but crashes like CN.
But old versions works well.Maybe old CN will work too.

I think sth. in the new version make 1.8.2 failed in my computer.

1.8 and above (1.8.1 , 1.8.2) can't run,

but 1.8 beta2 works well!

I guess new changes from 1.8beta2 to 1.8 caused this problem!

This crash most probably stems from the new version of the protector which wraps CintaNotes executable.
I've contacted the protector's author, tomorrow he should give a version with debug logging.

Yes，it generated only debug.log0000089C and debug.log, nothing else.It's strange.

Same thing is happening to me. Opens up Cintanotes and then immediately closes. What is going on?

What is the estimated fix on 1.8.2 - I tried going back to earlier version and it refused ( because it said the db was (now)created by your 1.8.2 - I need to be able to get to my notes Alex - Cintanotes is my lifeline to a ton of data and notes. Please let all of us know what is the estimated fix time on 1.8.2 - thanks.

If not, please run it with "-d" and send me the log.

Downloaded the 1.8.3 Beta1_221012.zip you sent today 10/22/12 - same thing again - opens and then immediately shuts down.

This time, I then ran cintanotes.exe -d and the log would not produce (this time) as it did yesterday with the version you asked me to replace.

Crossing fingers Alex that you find this - quite a bit of info I need to get to - unfortunately, this 1.8.2 and .3 changed the 1.8.1 (.db) so I can't go backwards to 1.8.1 or any other earlier version <groan> - I have trusted so much that the newer version would just work like all the others that I did not back up since 1.6 and before. <groan x 2) - learned my lesson.

This works with 1.8.3 Beta 1 but see the image - After I wrote to you that 1.8.3 Beta did not work and would not create a log file. I loaded it in a different directory with only these files in it. (See attached .jpg). I overwrote the .db with 1.8.2 converted version that was not working.

So it works in only this particular directory ...

C:\Download\CintaNotes\CintaNotes_1_8_3_Beta1 with only the files shown in the attached .jpg

It does not work in my old directory ...

C:\Download\CintaNotes

I don't want to move any files from C:\Download\CintaNotes to C:\Download\CintaNotes\CintaNotes_1_8_3_Beta1 until you or your author can tell me which ones are ok and which one is the culprit.

Something in the old directory makes it crash. If you want a picture of my old directory I will send it.
