So far I've only been able to catch this on the fly, so I don't know what conditions will duplicate it. But I'll be working in the browser, for instance, and notice out of the corner of my eye that my tag filter has switched off. Since it happens periodically, and without my interaction, I suspect it has something to do with the backup. This has happened several times, so I know its not just a fluke. I'll probably go back to 1.8.1.5 until this is fixed. Its like having a cat walk over your keyboard just before you were about to save ...
Thanks,
Mark

Re: Tag filters turn off on their own in 1.8.3
Hi Mark, thanks a lot for the report!
I happen to already know about this problem, and in the version 1.8.4 that comes out
today (13.11) it should be fixed. Please stay put
