I want CN NOT to start minimized, instead I need to have it in the screen in front of me at starup

Should be easy, right? It's a matter of UNchecking the "Run Minimized" option.

It doesn't work, it starts minimized all the same.

I am requesting help to fix this. There's no support, so I trust that the developer(s) use the forum to provide it.

I've just tested this. No problem here. Works fine for me. Did you actually restart CintaNotes?

Can you provide more information please?
- CN version?
- OS version?
- your Settingsfile

Hi Sandro,

thanks for providing your settings. I've compared them to mine. The only major difference is the always stay on top option, which you use. I've tested this here, but could not reproduce your problem. Maybe its XP related. Alex needs to jump in here.

Hi spj,

I must say your request is a bit unusual. More proof to the old "never say never" saying - while developing this feature
I assumed that no one would want to see the program pop up at the system startup.
So by default CintaNotes always adds the "-m" switch to the registry command line
which starts it (starting with the system and starting manually are considered to be different use cases, the "Run minimized" setting
only affects the latter case).

Now how to fix it:
1) Method 1 (easier):
- Uncheck "Run at startup"
- Put a shortcut to CN into the "Startup" folder of the Start Menu.

2) Method 2 (for power users):
- Run CN and make sure the "Options/Startup/Run at system startup" is checked, exit CN
- Press WIN key, type "regedit", Enter
- Go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run
- Edit the "CintaNotes" key: remove the "-m" parameter
- Please note that now the "Options/Startup/Run at system startup" will appear UNCHECKED -don't touch it any more, CN will still run at startup.

Only if you uninstall CN before reinstalling and/or touch the "Run at startup" option.

Method 1 worked perfectly, Alex, so no need to mess with the registry.

Sorry, but I have another question: is it possible to make it open with a specific tag selected?

What I am trying to do is to have CN on my screen in front of me every time I turn the computer on, with my To-Do list selected.

Currently CN automatically selects last selected tags and it is also the
best you can do. I've added your suggestion to the roadmap, please vote for it here:

Strange, this may be a bug.

1) Where is your CintaNotes folder located?
2) Please select some tag on the tag sidebar and then exit CN. After that please copy your settings file here again
(the tag selection should be saved in the viewstate.notebook[..].section[..].tagsfilter param).

the tag "ClipXStickies" is not selected?
