Notebook title in lowecase

Just wondering - why is the notebook title in lowercase? To me, it looks visually odd when the title does not match (case wise) the filename of the notebook.

Are you sure about that?
I just checked - the title matches the case of the file.
Which CN version you're working with? What is the name of the .db file?
Best would be a screenshot of the Windows Explorer with the file, and of CintaNotes.
Thanks!

Got it! This is indeed a bug. Oddly, it depends on the Options/Tags/Lower case only setting!
Thanks for the report, will fix in 2.8 Final.

Tuns out it doesn't depend on the Tag/Lower case only setting after all. It depends on whether you open the notebook file using the Open command, or from the recently opened notebooks list.

Indeed, I only open files from the recent files menu. Oddly, this bug - which has been present in every version of CN as far as I know, I just never reported it until now - did not affect a db file named 'cintanotes'. If I open my cintanotes.db file, CN's title bar says "Main". So not only does it use an uppercase first letter - in contrast to every other db file it opens - it also ignores the name of the db file itself (again, in contrast to every other db file it opens). I assume this is because cintanotes is treated as a special name for some reason or other.

Regards,

Chris

You're right - "cintanotes.db" is treated in a special manner for the sake of users who only have one notebook and want to keep things simple.

While this was mostly fixed in v2.8, there is still one use case where the bug occurs. If you have two notebooks listed in the File menu and you close one, the notebook that CN switches to will be listed in lowercase.

So, open two notebooks that are both uppercase (for example Test Notebook 1 and Test Notebook 2). If you check the File menu, you will see them both. Switch to Test Notebook 2, and then go into the File menu and close it. CN will automatically switch back to Test Notebook 1 - but will show it as test notebook 1. To fix this, you have to swap to another notebook via the File menu (which will show correctly in uppercase) and then use File to switch back to the affected notebook (which will magically then be listed in uppercase).

Chris, thanks, I confirm!
Will be fixed in 2.8.1.
