I'm currently transferring all the contents of my old Dell to a new Dell.

To transfer CintaNotes (CN), I did the follwing:

- Download CN on new Dell
- On old Dell, copy CintaNotes.db to pen drive
- Copy from pen drive to new Dell

The normal format for notes in the main panel is:

Title 1
Title 2
Title 3
etc

But the NEW format (on both laptops) is now:

Title 1
Text line 1
Text line 2
etc
------------------------
Title 2
Text line 1
Text line 2
etc
------------------------
etc


In other words, the main panel now contains the ENTIRE contents of each note, as well as its title.

The main panel still behaves normally. In other words, if I click on any title in the panel, that note is opened in a separate window, as usual.

I can edit the separate window, and save the note. The edited text is now displayed in the main panel !!

If I edit the note TITLE in the separate window, the title will be altered in the main panel when I save the note.

I can live with this, but it would be nice if someone could tell me how to keep the note text out of the main panel.

Take a look at Options > Notes List... > Preview text lines. Try setting max to 0 and see if this gets you back to where you were. While you're at it, if you still have access to the old system, compare the other Options settings for any differences.

You could also try copying over the cintanotes.settings file to the new system, but note that there are some settings in there with directory names for CN, backups, etc. If your new system has different locations, you may need to modify these.
