[Other] Including readme.txt with upgrade instructions - DONE(BetaM10)

Postby Brian » Sat Jul 18, 2009 10:53 am

I think there should be a readme.txt file in the portable zip that explains if you are upgrading from a previous version all you need to do is drop the contents of the zip over your current install and overwrite.

I was a little paranoid when I first did this that the settings/notebook wouldn't work.

Would give peace of mind for under a KB :D

the readme.txt should explain all files that are comming with the portable version. questions like "where are my notes saved" should be answered there.

Ok I agree that this file would be useful. Let's list the topics that should be covered there:

1) How to upgrade a portable CN installation
2) Where are my notes stored?
3) Where are my settings stored?

anything else?

I think the stable version history should be included, as well as any tips to improve usability or regarding any non evident features -- the tag pane width tweak springs to my mind...

Also the URL for to FAQ/tutorials.
