Window Sizing

Postby usbpoweredfridge » Sat Jan 23, 2016 3:56 am

You can resize the note editor dialog box in CN. I have found a couple of instances where this size does not stick, and CN reverts to the default editor size.

1. Resize dialog box used to create new note. Create new note to verify size of dialog has changed. Open previously created note, leave the note dialog open. Clip new note while other note is open, and the size of new note dialog is the old default size of dialog, not new resized size.

2. After resizing the note editor, add a note link to an existing note and double click it, and the new note opens in the default sized dialog, not the resized dialog.

Hi Chris,

Actually this all is a concequence of not understanding how CN treats dialog sizes.
CN distinguishes between dialog #1, #2, #3 and so on.

Here's an example: when you change the size of a note dialog when it's the only one visible, you're changing size #1, which is applied to
dialog #1.

If you open another dialog while dialog #1 is still open, CN will use size #2, and resizing the second dialog will change size #2.
The same goes for the third dialog etc.

This is the same principle many dictionary programs use, ABBYY Lingvo for example (but it calls dialogs "cards").
