[Ann] CintaNotes 3.12 Final Release

Postby CintaNotes Developer » Tue Sep 18, 2018 12:26 pm

Sep 18, 2018 - Version 3.12

In this version:

Enhancements:
  • Sorting by Remarks field
  • Simplenote sync: Add option to sync every 1 minute
  • Simplenote sync: automatically turn on Markdown mode for uploaded new notes

Fixes:
  • Editor: fix links in rich text when pasted into other programs such as MS Word
  • Editor: Copy/paste of a bullet list with multiple indent levels doubles the space between each indent
  • Editor: marker highlight (Ctrl+H) was lost after copy/paste
  • Clipping from HTML: sometimes words in angle brackets were skipped
  • Error when using create note keyboard shortcut with locked notebook
  • Now it's possible to copy/paste notes with attachments from one notebook into another
  • HTML export: MS Word couldn't open files produced by exporting notes to HTML
  • Simplenote sync: don't add blank line + "source: someprogram.exe" to each note

Download:
Installable: CintaNotes_3_12_Setup.exe
Portable: CintaNotes_3_12.zip

An excellent release, Alex. You seem to be working your way through my personal wish-list!

The one big remaining item on that list is an optional color background for the notes. I remember that we discussed it on this forum a long time ago. Will that appear eventually in version 4, or might it show up in an interim release before then?

Hi Alex,

seems like the latest release breaks the handling of bullet lists.

Steps to reproduce:
- press Ctrl+L to create a list item
- enter some text
- press Shift+Enter
- press Enter

Up to version 3.11 a new bullet will be created. Now the bulleting stops :( This is one of my day to day features i use.

Thanks, Bill! I'm afraid colored notes will have to wait till v4, or maybe even beyond that a bit. Generally interim releases will tend to contain mostly non-UI features.

Hi Thomas, glad to hear from you!
I followed the steps exactly and the bulleting didn't stop for me. Maybe you do something differently? Can you reproduce this in a blank new note?

I can reproduce the same behavior that Thomas described in 3.11 vs 3.12. In 3.11, I get a new bullet, in 3.12 I don't.

Thanks, Gunars. My problem was that after pressing Shift+Enter, I pressed space and then Enter. Then the bullet is created.
But if don't press space, the bulleting stops.
I'll check what is the reason of this.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for the new release! The "open HTML in Word" fix is particularly appreciated!

Where is the "open HTML in Word" command? I hadn't spotted that one.

I've reread Alex's original announcement, and I wonder if perhaps I misunderstood the last post. Are we talking about just exporting a PDF file from CintaNotes and then copying and pasting it into a Word document?

It's about exporting from CN to an HTML file, and then opening that file in MS Word ;)
