[Search] Date ranges

Postby PinnacleWebDesign » Thu Jul 30, 2009 12:33 pm

I've recently discovered CintaNotes having been looking for ages for a way of managing my to-do lists and notes without needing to spend a week getting my head round how the software works.

Cintanotes is lightweight, it's portable (I run it in my Dropbox folder so I can access my notes anywhere) and although you can use it without having to RTFM there are some gems hidden away such as being able to move notes, reverse the order or search on a date that make things easier. The tagging system is just brilliant and the app looks real cool too

I did have a quick search of the forums but couldn't find anything relating to some functionality I would find useful, particularly as the number of items grows and that is the option to search for dates less than or greater than a given date - that way I can search for stuff that's been outstanding for ages (it happens, I admit it!) - or even between 2 dates. This could possibly be invoked by using the = < and > symbols when searching so, for example to search for everything before 1st May, I'd type in <01/05/2009

Cheers,
Mick

This might be addressed in the wildcard-based search (#160), but I'm not too sure. Either way, I think it is a good idea.

Sorry it took me so long to reply!

Thanks a lot for the suggestion!

I find it a really useful functionality, and I especially like that your solution doesn't clutter up the UI with additional buttons and input boxes.
Right now I'd like to have a vote to determine user's demand for this feature. Please vote!
