3.14 release?
Good evening,
3.14 has been in beta now over a year and is supposed to resolve the SimpleNote sync issues. Beta1 is supposed to fix it (per the announcement post) but hasn't worked for me. Will there be an official release that resolves SN support anytime soon?
Thanks!

Re: 3.14 release?
Hi and thanks for the question!
Well the answer is not that simple. The problem is, the issue that you're talking about is the result of Simplenote throttling CintaNotes because a bug in it caused high load on their servers in the past. So the issues won't go away after the release, because they won't remove the traffic limit just because a fixed version came out - there still are a lot of older versions of CN out there, and not everyone will update immediately. Unfortunately they haven't replied to my mails, and all in all it seems that they are limiting 3rd-party client support (they took down the public API from their site). So I guess CN will have to start supporting other notetaking platforms for sync.
Anyhow, I do plan to release an update before New Year, and try to negotiate with Simplenote relieving the traffic ban for this newer version. But I can't guarantee that they agree.

Any news of at least a stable 3.14 release instead of beta? Is a 3.15 (or a v. 4) in the works?
Hi Alex,
Is 3.14 ever going to come out of beta?
I paid for a lifetime license, but I'd be willing to pay again (and I bet some other users also would) to help you, if development could start again.
I rely heavily on CN, and it still works fine for me, but I'm worried I may have to switch to some other program if the program isn't updated to keep up, at least, with new versions of the OS.

Re: 3.14 release?
Hi Riccardo,
Sorry that I left the forum without attention for some time..
Indeed due to some external factors I had to slow down CN development - both 3.x and 4.x,
but good news is that now I'm getting back to it and plan to stick to it.
I truly appreciate your offer to help, but there's no real need to pay anything extra.
Indeed it's been to long without any update. Currently I plan to release 3.14 by the end of August.
Speaking of V4, things are more complicated there since it still will take a lot of work to cover
all the required features.
But hope is not lost please stay tuned

Glad to see you back on board "admin"!
Times are rough for sure, but we do what we can when we can right?
On this (west) side of the Atlantic there is talk of gov.t making its own crypto, possibly by mid-december.
Never too keen on what the gov.t does, but i digress.

p.s. still hoping for a CN Linux app., a Flatpak maybe?
Just dreaming!

Great to see you're still around, Daniel!!
Yeah, a Linux version will definitely come after the V4 release - otherwise there would be
no real need to go through all the hurdles with migration to Qt.
I know that packaging for Linux distros is a painful affair, so will definitely take a look
into Flatpak.

Ya well, you know you have a great piece of artwork, unparalleled even with Joplin!
The copy/paste of any note in a click (once in Opera browser) for example, doesn't exist anywhere else.
At least, not that i know of.
And service with a smile is always an invitation to come back.

Just logging in to say hi. Glad to see development is going on. I thought it had stopped for ever.

Hi Alex - Just stopped by to say hi and see how you're doing. I'm much less concerned about releases than with your well-being, given the current state of affairs.
Stay safe!

Re: 3.14 release?
Hi Gunars,
(Ups the notification about new forum posts got broken again, sorry..)
Glad to hear from you, and thanks for your concern! Hope you're doing well.
I'm fine, considering all the circumstances. Haven't been drafted yet at least, and hope that will be able to avoid it (the draft is expected to continue next year). CN4 development has unfortunately moved to the back list of priorities, but I hope to get back to it as soon as I can. Who would have thought that we'd have to go through pandemic first, then war. (Please can I have another Earth?;) Right now, have to pay more attention to the day job and try to not get fired CN4 already works somewhat, but is has still too little functionality to even consider it an alpha. Sorry to all those who'd hoped for a release by new year! Hate to let you down like this.

And after 3.14 is out, updates could be 3.141, 3.1415, 3.14159... (we all know how that ends) - the Pi version

Alex, any further announcements about the next release? Some of us have not given up on the future of CintaNotes, but these endless, repeated delays are testing our patience!
