Search in Unicode

Postby basilides » Mon Aug 31, 2009 1:23 am

Greetings!

Two quick questions, please.

I have downloaded and installed your program, and I am impressed. I use the Gentium unicode font, but I can't perform searches using this font in the search box. Am I doing something wrong?

Second, if the "unicoded" word I am searching for is far at the bottom of a relatively large note, there is an indication of a hit, but the word I am searching for is not highlighted. Again, am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for creating a potential great PIM.

Some more Info reqd. for the Developer.

1. What version number are you using?

2. What type are you using? ie Portable or installer?

Hello basilides, welcome to the forum :)

Do you mean that the font used in the search box is not Gentium? if so, as far as I know nothing wrong because at the moment that font is not customizable, we can only set a custom font for the header and the body of notes.

Again I think it's nothing wrong on your side, what you see is not related to Unicode, simply if the matching search result is in a line beyond the amount of displayed lines set in preferences, the line and thus the search match are not shown.

Hello basilides,

thanks for your post!

1) In the search box, CN uses the same font that is set as default for dialog boxes. This font can be changed using Control Panel / Display.
2) I can't easily visualize the problem. Do you mean that the word is visible, but not highlighted? If so, could you make a screenshot please? Thanks!

About the search question,
I would like to add that we can scroll long notes staying in list view using the left and right keys on the keyboard, so you might scroll the note and see if the highlighted match is in the "hidden" portion of the note, because I had exactly the same problem, I could not find visually the search matches in some notes and the explanation as said was that there were long notes and the match was in the portion of note out of view :)
