[Fixed in BetaM10.4] Pressing Backspace will produce blank characters after clipping.

Postby edwinyzh » Wed Sep 16, 2009 10:07 am

Hi, in my Chinese Xp, after clipping text from Google Chrome browser and the editor is popped up, I found that I cannot delete characters by pressing the Backspace key, it produces blank space, and I need to select what I want to delete and press the Del key.

BTW, this is very nice note taking tool, fast, lightweight and does what I want, I'm looking forward to the commercial version too.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Sorry but I cannot reproduce the behavior that you describe. Could you please tell me, which of the fields has focus after you clip,
and what is your clipping hotkey (and whether changing it helps).
Thanks!

the tag field receives focus after clipped, my hotkey is ctrl+alt+ins

In another PC I also couldn't reproduce this problem but there is a another problem which does not happen all the time, the problem is that although I can see the flashing cursor is in the tag field, but I cannot type in any characters unless I click it.

Does it only happen when you clip from Chrome? And in other applications, is everything ok?

CintaNotes BetaM10.3, Chrome 3.0.195.21 - no crash :|
Which Chrome version do you have? How exactly did it crash?

Thanks

steps to make my chrome 2.0.172.43 crash.

1. Open that URL.
2. Press ctrl + a to select all content.
3. Press my <ctrl+alt+ins> hot key to clip it.
4. vs.net just in time debugger will show up.

Chrome 2.0.172.40, CN M10.3, Ctrl+Alt+Ins - no crash :?
Maybe that's something specific for the Chinese XP? Can anyone else check clipping from the specified URL please?

Maybe it's an issue related to the Chinese system or the Chinese input method. I'll let you know if I get further details.

Hi,

I've got further info. I also found that the backspace problem is not the only one problem, but also the left/right arrow keys skip over one word each time as opposed to one character each time normally, and after pressing <Ctrl + space> (the input method switching hotkey) the issue can be fixed.

Hope it helps.

Thanks for the info, edwinyzh!

I'll check it. At first glance, it seems that the program behaves as if the Ctrl key was being held down.. Hmm..interesting!
