Adding Search Window

Postby search guide » Sat Feb 14, 2009 12:13 am

Using it for a week and loving it. I was looking for such a software for a while and now find it. here some suggestion:
First, whenever I do something, i will define the process and then find tools to help me out. for note taking there are three processes and should be three windows that goes with it:
1. admin: such as set up preferences, etc - that already exist and shortcut key to activate it. I see to use this one once in a while to modify setting.
2. capture notes: to create new note that already exist with shortcut key to activate it. I see to use this a lot i.e. once every 10-15 minutes. need shortcut key to close it any time- since i may not need to enter additional info such as tag, link, ... .
3. retrieve notes: THE MISSING PART. Need a window that I can use my pre-defined searches (that could be defined in admin window) to see the result. A hierarchy to ease the navigation of pre-defined searches would be nice.

Thanks again for such a nice work.

p.s. there are some requests to make the notes RTF. In my experience, other softwares that have it are slow. The fast response is the key

Hi and thanks for your feedback!
I'm sorry I couldn't get to you earlier.

The idea of saved searches (or search folders, if you prefer) makes a lot of sense to me. I will definitely put it on the roadmap.
As for RTF support, I will do my best not to sacrifice performance while implementing basic formatting support. Contemporary PCs are very powerful, and oftentimes it's just laziness of developers that makes software slower than it could be.
And CintaNotes already uses a rich text edit control for editing, so I don't think that it will be that much slower - it will all depend on the amount of text you want to edit.

Thanks again,
