[Clipping] Remove Browser Name In Title

Postby theaccountant » Sat Jul 30, 2011 9:48 pm

Can we have an option to not add browser/source in title as this is rather spurious. When I check my notes for opera or IE or Firefox configs iI get lots of false positives thanks to them being in the title.

Thanks

I would also like this.

An option to use just the webpage title without the browser name (as opposed to the entire application title.)

It won't solve this particular problem but I would like to add, that there are a few options to customize the title in Options > Clipping > Use as Title

I can also suggest to use a search mode that doesn't look into the title, it would be a workaround for the "false positives" problem.

Of course we need a generic solution so a kind of user defined list of phrases to delete from the title, or regular expressions to apply after clipping for example.

I agree this would be a valid improvement. It would be best to record browser name in a separate field (we have now a DB-only "source" field which could be used for that purpose).
