Run 1 second and quit :-(
I just updated from 1.7.2_Beta2 to 1.8. CN won't launch. I see it during one second in the task manager then quit. No message about "debugger"...nothing. I go back to 1.7.2b2 because i use a lot CN
If i can help, just ask me what you want
edit : Oops i wanted to post in the thread about CN1.8 not here. Sorry

Yes i tried this version too. I have also rename my CN db in case of a problem with it. But no luck. May be i'll try using 'explorer' as shell, maybe something wrong with bbLean(Cameo) shell .
Have you a command line switch i can add to CN to produce a log ?

Re: Run 1 second and quit :-(
Thanks Alex for this new version, but it's always the same, launch(visible in task manager) and close without message (i tested under Windows Shell and Cameo (bbLean shell)).
I drop the CN exe on vsjitdebugger.exe to try to view something. The only thing i saw then was a dialog box telling me "Error:Debugger is found on this machine!". Well since i'm developper it will be always true, and i believe i'm not the only one
Did you "detect" debugger to try avoid "piracy" ? (i understand that very very well !). Maybe you could try something else
Best regards
I'll continue with previous version. It's not a problem don't worry , i still like CintaNotes Ah ah ah
PS : I have multiple debugger on my machine (one with VS2010, one with RadAsm, and may one or two more..."He who can do more, can do less." ).

I am a developer too. I am wondering myself what CN exactly does. While running my Delphi Debugger i can still use CN Of course, to make life harder for those "bad" hackers, Alex won't share details on this. So far the new protection caused some issues for those people using either the free or the commercial version. Those hackers probably get excited, because now there is more debugging necessary to crack that new version.

I also run the commercial. Ever since i started with CN almost two years ago i am excited about the product and the value it adds to my day to day work. For example for holding temporary data i create a new note using the global Ctrl+Shift+F12 shortcut, i edit and save the note using Ctrl+S. When i need to select the note i use Ctr+U to easily access untagged notes. When i am done i delete it using Ctrl+Del inside the editor. This simple working mechanism has saved me so much time and made me much more productive. CN is just one of the best products i know. Not to forget Alex' superb support!

Re: Run 1 second and quit :-(
The problem occurs because of the software protector we are using to prevent cracking CN. I've already contacted the software's vendor, and they are preparing a fixed version. As soon as they deliver a fix, I'll release an update that should fix this problem, so please stay put! Thanks for your patience.
