[Editing] Allow date stamp in title field

Postby Mark S. » Sat Oct 13, 2012 8:01 pm

The new datestamp feature allows you to stamp inside the main body, but doesn't allow you to put a timestamp inside the title. I would like the datestamp to be opened up so as to work in the title field as well.

Thanks for listening,
Mark

Hi Mark,
with 1.8.1 the F5 key should work in the title field as well.
Do I understand correctly that it doesn't work for you?

Hello,

Since it didn't appear in the right-click dialog (like it does in the main text body), I didn't know the feature was available. That sort of fails the "Discoverable" part of the design philosophy. I imagine you're planning a full implementation later.

The function keys are awkward on my keyboard so they're not my preferred way of doing things. (the keyboard designer valued "windows" functions over native function keys). Thanks for pointing out that the feature is actually available.

You're welcome, Mark!

It was not implemented in the context menu because replacing the default Edit control context menu requires much more work, with all this
RTL and Unicode control symbols stuff..
