I'm running CintaNotes_BetaM8 Portable version and experience the
following bug:
I can add notes just fine either by clipping text or INSert, but when
I edit a note, e.g. to add a tag or something and hit ctrl-enter or enter
all notes are gone (the entire notes list is empty just like if I had
started the program for the first time).
If I exit the program and start it again all notes are back, including the
edited one.
Running WinXP sp3

Re: [bug] Notes not visible after adding
Hello,
thank you very much for reporting! Unfortunately I can't reproduce the problem on my configuration,
so I kindly ask you to provide the following information:
1) Do you run CN from your hard drive or from a USB stick?
2) Is tag sidebar visible? If yes, what is selected on it?
3) Does the bug appear when you just press Ins and then Enter ?
4) Do you have a multi-monitor configuration?
5) What does the message say: "Your notebook is empty" or
"No notes found which match current filter"?
6) Does the tag sidebar become empty as well?
This will greatly help me find the bug. Thanks!!

Q1) Do you run CN from your hard drive or from a USB stick?
A1: HDD
Q2) Is tag sidebar visible? If yes, what is selected on it?
A2: No, not visible, nothing selected. IF I do make it visible
it the "untagged" is linked that might explain it, if I then
view TAGS, select ALL everything is back.
Q3) Does the bug appear when you just press Ins and then Enter ?
A3: NO, but I this is how I can replicate the BUG:
Clip text using ctrl-F12 -> I see the one note,
I double click on the note, to edit further, add a new tag
hit enter -> "No notes found which match current filter"
so it jumps to untagged by default, this made me think
everything was "gone". I do find it slightly counter intuative
e.g. it should jump back to all after I update it I think,
now I would have to view tag, select ALL manually.
Also the SEARCH box in inactive so you can't search either.
Q4) Do you have a multi-monitor configuration?
A4: YES
Q5) What does the message say: "Your notebook is empty" or "No notes found which match current filter"?
A5: Your notebook is empty, see above
Q6) Does the tag sidebar become empty as well?
A6: NO, I can understand what happens now, but I suggest
to change that behaviour as it confuses me and it requires
me to undertake extra actions to get the default view back
Other than that I like the app

Re: [bug] Notes not visible after adding
Thank you very much for the answers.
Yes, this is not a bug but rather a feature (at least I thought it would be
after clipping, CintaNotes switches to "Untagged" to help you organize your notes.
There are two things that should be done here:
1) No switching to "Untagged" should occur if tag sidebar is not visible and it is not clear
why the notes list is different;
2) if after editing or tagging the note, no notes are left in the Untagged view, the view should be
automatically switched to All.
>Q5) What does the message say: "Your notebook is empty" or "No notes found which match current filter"?
>A5: Your notebook is empty, see above
But above is "No notes found"? I guess that's what you meant?

Yes, A5: should be "No notes found which match current filter".
Other than that I agree with your 1 & 2 remarks. Myself I wouldn't use the tag bar that much so it would be off by default that's why I didn't notice it at first until I say your "what do you see" question I thought
Keep up the good work!

Actually, Alex, I find your tag management solution quite clever and really usefull, so I totally agree with it...
