Suggested tweak to initial focus setting

Postby dutch_in_seattle » Tue Apr 09, 2013 4:53 pm

I have a small suggestion to tweak the initial focus setting. Could that be split up into separate settings for new and existing notes? I (and I can imagine many users, too) would prefer the initial focus for new notes to be in the title field, but for existing notes in the text field. It would be great if we could make that distinction in the settings.

Thanks!

It's already there. Check Options\Editor\Initial focus. Be happy. :)

Hi Ron,

yes I think that distinction makes sense. However I don't want to overload the interface, and this
is subtle (as Thomas will testify :) ). So, let's see how it performs on the roadmap - you're welcome to add it
as a suggestion there.
Since it's easy to implement, it will only need 10 upvotes.

It know that option is there, but my point was to make a distinction between new and existing notes, since it would make sense to me to focus new notes in the title and existing notes on the text.

My fault. You're right. Please be aware, that for editing a note, the option is relevant only, if you open it, without searching for it. In other words, if you first do a search and open the found note, the caret will be placed in the editor anyway, highlighting the searched word.
