i created lots of notes without titles. (i dont need titles. CN doesnt require them. simplenote doesnt require them.)
but when i sync those notes up to SN, they have a blank first line.
i feel as though i need to delete the blank line from each note, which is impractical.
i dont MIND having a title, so notes created in SN and synced down to CN have an acceptable behavior.
is there a method to batch format all my notes to remove the blank line? there are 3000.
thanks for your ideas.
first line of simplenote is blank whenever CN title is blank

Re: first line of simplenote is blank whenever CN title is b
i was able to normalize all the notes, removing the first blank line, and assigning each a title:
- import them from simplenote down into NValt (mac).
- break the sync.
- set NValt to save the notes as individual files.
- delete the simplenote account and recreate it.
- sync back to simplenote
- reset NValt to save notes as desired.
the first line of each note is broken if too long, and continued on the next line. but thats better than a blank first line for some users.
btw, resophnotes does NOT handle this gracefully. it names each note as "", successively overwriting all but the last.

Hi gnormal,
since SN doesn't support note titles, CintaNotes uses the first line for title.
That's just the way the two programs interoperate.
Glad that you've found the way to batch format your notes and thanks

Alex,
is it possible to sync to SN without forcing any tag?
In some cases I'd like to export some notes which will not be coming back to CN, so that tag is tedious to strip one record at a time.
SN is having trouble recognizing and mass deleting "#section/Main" I suppose due to the special characters.
thanks

Hi,
yes it could be possible to do for notebooks which have only one section.
I'll add it to our plan, and you expect it in the next version.
