Creation date in notes list

Postby gunars » Fri Nov 08, 2013 3:53 pm

Hi

The notes list always displays the creation time, even when I set Options -> Notes List -> Date and Time Display to None or Modified. A very minor issue.

Wait, seems I was a bit too quick..
Do you have the "Always display sort mode date" checkbox checked?
Also please note that when creation and modification dates are the same, only one is displayed.

Ah, that was it. Turning off the always display sort mode date took care of it. Thanks, Alex! Sorry for the false report.

When sorting by size, can the size of the note be displayed on the title line? Alternately, when the note is open in edit mode, the dates are already listed on the bottom-left - the size could be added there also.

Hi Gunars,

one feature is already on the roadmap. You can vote for it here http://roadmap.cintanotes.com/topic/102220-show-size-of-note-when-sorting-for-size/. Regarding displaying the size within the editor, it can be shown by pressing Alt+Enter inside the editor.

Thanks, Thomas! Apparently I knew about the roadmap item at one point since I had voted for it already :o.

Also, I found that the Alt-Enter also works on the currently selected note in the notes list (when multiple notes are selected, it shows the info only for the last one). Thanks for pointing this out - I had been looking for some place to change the Created date when clipping some older info. Looks like I can do that here also.

Alex, imo this is a kind of bug. It doesn't make sense when multiple notes are selected. It might be better to disable the Alt+Enter feature in that situation.

Alex, the context menu of the editor is missing the entry for "Properties Alt+Enter". It should be added, as it is available in the notes list also. How else would a user know it's there?

A better solution would be to collect and display cumulative information, and allow to change the creation/modification time in bulk.
But disabling it sure it easier ;)

Yes, I agree here. Thanks.
