CN 2.93 (current), Windows 7 64 bit
1) Moved all notes from a section to another section
2) Right clicked on the section
3) Selected Delete
4) The section was not deleted, and the followin error message appeared:
---------------------------
[Error]
---------------------------
class db::DatabaseException
SQLite error 19:
UNIQUE constraint failed: Sections.num
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
5) For testing purposes, closed CN, reopened it and tried again, same result
6) For testing purpose, created a new section and deleted it: no error message appeared
Question, how can I delete the unwanted section?

Re: Bug: cannot delete section
Hi,
I just quickly tried this on a new test notebook I created for the purpose, and it all went fine. Someone else reported this same thing recently:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2039
See Alex's second post in that thread, and see if it allows you to delete the section.

Hello Riccardo,
Chris is right, most probably this is a db corruption issue.
I'm afraid you'll need to recreate the notebook via XML export/import to delete this section.

Re: Bug: cannot delete section
How can I avoid duplicating notes in SN, if I export import?
I've checked the other thread, and saw that you suggest "if you have SN sync active, you'll need to take some extra steps to avoid
notes being duplicated - in this case, simply create a new notebook and sync it with SN to get your notes."
I'm not sure I understand: A new notebook where: Cinta Notes or Simplenote? I assume you mean in Cinta Notes, but then, once I import in the new notebook all my notes exported from the current database, won't I have a tons of duplicates in SN?

Thanks for a good question, and sorry that I didn't take this scenario into account in my recommendation above.
If you have all your notes synced with SN, you don't need to use export/import at all. Simply create a new notebook in CN and sync it with the same SN account, that's it
If you are syncing only some of the sections, you'll need to export/import sections which are not synced.
