Full error message:
- "This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way."
CN was in almost constant use for about 14 hours today, then hibernated.
On recovery from hibernation, the first attempt to use CN caused the error message.
I restarted laptop twice. After both restarts, I got the same CN error message.
I don't want to try any of the automatic backups until I get advice.
Please advise.

My first guess is that some other software on your new laptop interferes with CN's normal operation.
But first we need to make sure that we correctly have all the circumstances.
Please tell:
- which exact version of CN are you using?
- have you tried the portable version or only the installation?
- also I'd try to reinstall CN, but also to backup the cintanotes.settings file from %APPDATA%/CintaNotes,
and removing it so that CN starts with a completely fresh set of settings.
